In 2000 Polo America created the first polo convention for polo players. Polo players came from twenty different countries to attend world class polo seminars ranging from polo club marketing to purchasing a horse to towing horses to purchasing horses to putting together a winning team. In the Polo Village attendees had the opportunity to purchase anything imaginable for the polo player. Over 100 vendors attended: Tackeria, Featherlite Trailers, Polo Gear, La Martina, Equisure, Eldorado Polo Club, USPA Properties, Texas Polo, FIP, Ford Trucks, Sundowner Trailers, New Cavalry Tack, IJ' Exotic Polo Tours, California Polo Club.
The festivities feature numerous banquets. The highlight is the Black Tie Blue Jeans award dinner. At each convention Polo America picks one individual who has devoted their life to advancing the sport of polo with a Polo America Lifetime Achievement Award. Past recipients include: Ambassador Glen Holden, Patrick Guerrand Hemes and Rege Ludwig.
Polo players will be happy to know that Polo America Expo will be return to Las Vegas in October, 2011. Ticket, hotel and vendor information will be available January 2011.
