Ford Truck Road Rallies

Palm Springs, CA - January

Dallas, TX-June

At each location several teams of four polo players will be given a Ford Super Duty Truck and a map. Each time the players navigate to their destination and complete a task they are given a playing card. The team with the best poker hand after the rally wins.

The Ford Trucks U.S. Open Arena Polo Championship is coming to Aiken, SC on April 28 through May 3, 2009. This is the most prestigious arena polo tournament in the country. Four high goal teams will compete for this coveted trophy. For a spectator there is nothing that can compare to arena polo. The action is always within a few feet of you.

The site will be the Polo America Arena off Storm Branch Leg Road. This brand new 150’ x 300’ arena has been created specifically for the U.S. Open Arena Polo Championship. This magnificent venue resembles an Italian Villa with terrace upon terrace. The main patio features a fireplace in the back of the goalmouth and a 40’ x 150’ patio. The second terrace will house fourteen 10’ x 10’ sponsor tents. The third terrace houses the 4000 square foot barn.

In addition to action in the arena, dinners and parties will be held throughout the week. One of the highlights is the Kentucky Derby Party in the Polo America Barn after the third and fourth place game on May 2nd. Direct TV will place a 10’ screen inside the barn to watch the Kentucky Derby. VIP Terrace Guests and horses will be side by side to watch the race. .

World Elephant Polo Championship

Polo America will be taking a polo team to compete in the 2009 World Elephant Polo Championship. There are four players on each team. The game is played on a marked pitch of 100 metres by 70 metres, using a standard size polo ball. Each game consists of two 10 minutes chukkers of playing time, with an interval of 15 minutes.

Polo America Gingerbread Barns

December 10-12, 2009
Aiken, SC

Christmas is known for Gingerbread Houses, but how about Gingerbread Barns. Since Aiken is synonymous with horses, Polo America thought it only fitting that there should be a Gingerbread Barn competition. Entries will be on display at a location to be determined in the next few weeks. Admission to view the Gingerbread Barns is an unwrapped toy to be donated to a family from Fort Gordon Army Base. nt>
